How to setup a Zebra Printer

 

 

SECTION 1. Printing the Configuration Page


Before you connect the printer to your register, make sure the printer is in proper working order.


You can do this by printing a configuration report following these steps:

'

1.     Turn the printer OFF by locating the power cable at the back of the printer and unplug it, then reconnect the power cable.

2.     Turn the printer ON.

3.     Once the printer is in the ready state (Status indicator  is solid green), press and hold the FEED and CANCEL buttons for two (2) seconds and release.

4.     The Printer and Network Configuration Reports (shown below) will be printed.

5.     When the printer stops, the Status indicator  will turn solid green.


If the configuration page displays 000.000.000.000 as the IP address. The Zebra printer is not connected to UNTUCKit wireless network. Therefore, you should proceed to the instructions on 3.

 

 

SECTION 2. Entering the IP address into the NewStore Associate app

 

Please follow the instructions below to input the Zebra printer’s IP address into the NewStore Associate app:

1.     Open the Associate app on a register.

2.     If the app is not found, please use the Self Service app to install it.

3.     Login using your NewStore account

4.     Select the More button at the bottom far right

5.     Select Configure Zebra Printer

6.     Enter the printer’s IP address

7.     Select Test Print

 

 

SECTION 3: Connecting to the wireless network using the Zebra Printer Setup Utility

 


Next place the Zebra printer into a Bluetooth discoverable state by performing the Reset Network Factory Defaults steps:

1.     Turn OFF the printer.

2.     Press and hold PAUSE + CANCEL while turning ON the printer.

3.     Hold PAUSE + CANCEL until the STATUS indicator  is the only indicator lit.

 

The printer’s network configuration is reset to the factory default values. No labels print at the end of this action.


If the network reset was successful, the Network Indicator will change to RED.

 

Starting with iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5, we need to explicitly allow Bluetooth and Local Network access on the register.

Allowing access to Bluetooth and Local Network:

1.     On your device (iPhone / iPad), open the Settings app.

2.     Scroll down and select Privacy or select Privacy & Security.

3.     Select Bluetooth.

4.     Toggle app permissions on  for the Associate app and Printer Setup app.

5.     Select back button at the top left  

6.     Select Local Network

7.     Toggle app permissions on  for the Associate app and Printer Setup app.


Pairing a register with a Zebra printer via Bluetooth:

1.     On your device (iPhone / iPad), open the Settings app.

2.     Select Bluetooth. A list of paired devices will appear, as well as a list of unpaired devices. (If the Zebra printer doesn't appear, please check your other registers' Bluetooth settings and disconnect any device connected to printer via Bluetooth)

3.     Select the device with the serial number of the printer you wish to pair with, then select Pair (By default Zebra printer serial number is used as its Bluetooth name)


Connecting to a Zebra printer via Bluetooth:


1.     Open the Printer Setup app (If the app is not found, please use the Self Service app to install the Zebra Printer Setup Utility)

2.     Select  Menu to open the Side Drawer

3.     Select Discover Printers

4.     Select  Refresh in the Printer Setup side drawer (Zebra Printer Setup Utility searches and displays a list of discovered Bluetooth and network connected printers. At the completion of the discovery, the Discovered Printers group is updated. Progress dialogs are displayed during the discovery process)

5.     Select the Zebra printer based on the serial number (If the printer is not discoverable, press and hold the FEED button for 5-10 seconds to enable limited Bluetooth pairing mode , then repeat step 4)

6.     After successfully connecting to the printer, select Connectivity Settings

7.     Select Wireless

8.     Select Next

9.     Select Next

10.  Change ESSID to UNTUCKit

11.  Change Security Mode to WPA PSK

12.  Change Wireless Band to All

13.  Select Next

14.  Enter the password for the UNTUCKit wireless network (Please contact us if you don’t know the password)

15.  Select Next

16.  Select Apply


17.  Select RESET (after the printer has restarted, the printer then will be connected to your wireless network)
